Tech companies, from startups to industry giants like Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Salesforce, are now not only encouraging AI tool usage among employees but also tracking it and linking it to performance evaluations. Google and Meta have begun incorporating AI usage into software engineer reviews, while Amazon Web Services monitors individual engineer AI adoption for promotions. A recent survey indicated that 42% of tech workers feel their managers expect daily AI usage, up from 32% earlier this year.
