Israeli settlers beat up and detain Oscar-winning Palestinian director (Video)

Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian co-director Hamdan Ballal of the Oscar-winning documentary “No Other Land” in the West Bank, leading to his detention at an Israeli military base. Basel Adra, another co-director, stated that masked settlers assaulted Ballal’s village while activists from the Center for Jewish Nonviolence were also targeted. The Israeli military claimed Palestinians threw rocks, with Adra expressing concern that the attack may be retaliation for the film’s production.
