Israeli bombing sends people fleeing Lebanon to war-ravaged Syria

Lebanese man Hassan Slim, who had avoided Syria due to the ongoing war, is now fleeing there with his elderly mother as Israeli strikes hit Lebanon’s south. After nearly a year of clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, Slim found himself waiting at a border crossing for their papers to be processed in Syria. Despite their previous avoidance of Syria, the escalating violence in Lebanon has forced Slim and his mother to seek refuge in their neighboring country.
