Banda Aceh, Indonesia, still bears the scars of the 2004 tsunami, with over 230,000 people killed and Aceh province hit the hardest, leading to massive rebuilding efforts supported by international donors. Despite the development and memorials, the community remains vigilant with regular tsunami drills and commemorative events to ensure preparedness and remembrance for future generations.
