Indigenous Athletes Compete in New York Marathon

In Alice Springs, retired athletes Johnathan Thurston and Lance “Buddy” Franklin are training for the New York City Marathon as part of the Indigenous Marathon Project, overcoming challenges and sharing inspiring experiences with fellow Indigenous runners. Thurston, who initially doubted his marathon readiness, has progressed through various races, now focused on completing the 42km challenge and celebrating personal achievement.
