Immigrants sick of being scapegoated plan one-day strike Dec. 18

Christelle, an immigrant from Côte d’Ivoire, found herself in an abusive marriage after moving to Quebec in June 2023. Despite leaving the marriage, she is currently unable to work while awaiting the processing of her visa request by the federal government. Without status, she relies on financial aid from the Immigrant Workers Centre in Montreal, as she is unable to access other forms of financial support.
