ICE begins ‘targeted’ immigration arrests in Chicago

In Chicago, federal immigration agents conducted targeted operations on Sunday morning, detaining an unknown number of individuals, including Maria’s husband, who did not show up for work. ICE spokesman Jeff Carter stated that the operations aimed to enforce immigration laws and protect public safety, but declined to provide further details on the number of arrests or accusations. Residents across the city and suburbs reported sightings of ICE agents, leading to fear and anxiety among immigrant communities, as federal officials, including Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove and border czar Tom Homan, were in Chicago overseeing the operations.
