The officials from the UN nuclear watchdog had remained in the capital throughout the recent 12 days of fighting.

A team of inspectors from the IAEA has left Iran after Tehran suspended cooperation following a 12-day conflict involving Israeli and US strikes on Iranian military sites. Iran’s decision, driven by distrust of the IAEA and a desire to protect its sovereignty, prompted criticism from the US, which reiterated that Iran should not pursue nuclear weapons.
