According to Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis, artificial general intelligence (AGI) that can match or surpass human capabilities is expected to emerge within the next five to 10 years. While current AI systems excel in specific tasks, they still lack the complexity and versatility of human intelligence. AGI is defined as a system that can exhibit all the diverse abilities of humans, although further research and development are needed to achieve this level of artificial intelligence.
