Gukesh Dommaraju, an 18-year-old chess prodigy from India, became the youngest world chess champion ever by defeating defending champion Ding Liren of China in the final game of the World Chess Championship. Gukesh, who hails from Chennai, started playing chess at the age of seven and became a grandmaster at 12. Former US House speaker Nancy Pelosi in hospital after injury on overseas trip
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 84, is in hospital after sustaining an unspecified injury during an official trip to Luxembourg. Pelosi, a Democrat representing California in the US House, was travelling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.
