Retired SAA captain Karl Jensen debunked conspiracy theories surrounding the SAA 295 Helderberg disaster during a talk at Cafe@The Range, Kempton Park. The tragic mid-air disaster, which claimed 159 lives, was attributed to a fire caused by wet archs in the wiring of the cargo hold, leading to smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning. Following the incident, SAA sold the Waterberg 747-244 Super B Combi and implemented stricter policies for combination crafts.
