An orange-crowned warbler was spotted during Hamilton’s annual Christmas bird survey, a rare event noted by volunteer Bob Curry, who described its distinctive features. The Hamilton Naturalistsβ Club reported a record count of 94 species, including 12 hermit thrush, and significant numbers of other birds like 5,664 Canada Geese. The event, part of a long-standing tradition since 1921, contributes data to the National Audubon Society for broader analysis. This year’s count also extended to parts of Burlington, where a gray catbird was observed.
