Judge Prohibits Ontario Man from Using Python in Court
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

An Ontario man, Daniel King, has been banned by a Superior Court judge from bringing his albino ball python, “Rico,” to family court after the snake was deemed not a legitimate service animal. Justice Calum MacLeod found that the documentation supporting King’s claim was insufficient and questioned the credibility of the “doctor” who provided it. The ban was requested by the opposing party, Michelle Lee Parker, who argued the snake’s presence was intimidating due to her phobia. The judge ruled that King must prove the necessity of a service animal in future motions if he wishes to bring one into court.
