The Scottish Greens are calling for the SNP Government to guarantee free ferry travel for young islanders, with MSP Ross Greer and Arran by-election candidate Neil Wilkinson writing to Transport Secretary Fiona Hyslop to protect the current concessionary travel scheme. This scheme allows under 22s living on Scotland’s islands to receive four free single ferry trips per year, originally for those aged 16-18 but extended to include 19, 20, and 21-year-olds.
