2025 Tāmaki Makaurau byelection: Te Pāti Māori selects former broadcaster Oriini Kaipara to contest seat

Te Pāti Māori has chosen journalist Oriini Kaipara to run in the Tāmaki Makaurau byelection following the passing of MP Takutai Tarsh Kemp. Kaipara, a longtime advocate from West Auckland with strong Māori roots, has a history of amplifying Māori voices and holding leaders accountable, as highlighted by Te Pāti Māori co-leader Debbie Ngarewa-Packer.
