A Georgia woman, Ashley Wasielewski, is recovering after suffering severe burns over 50% of her body in an “unprovoked acid attack” on December 10 while returning home near Forsyth Park. The suspect, described as an unknown male in dark clothing, approached her from behind and poured acid on her. The FBI has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the attacker’s arrest, and authorities are investigating a person of interest identified from surveillance images. Savannah’s mayor emphasized that such violence is unacceptable and increased patrols in city parks for public safety.
