Geomagnetic storm may allow auroras to be seen in U.S.

A severe geomagnetic storm, classified as G4, is expected to hit Earth on Wednesday, potentially disrupting infrastructure and making northern lights visible across much of the northern U.S. This storm follows recent coronal mass ejections and one of the strongest solar flares of the current cycle. The aurora is forecasted to be visible as far south as Alabama and Northern California starting Tuesday night. A subsequent G3 storm is anticipated to affect Earth on Thursday.
