Frustrated Far North mayor tells people to ‘bloody look after’ their dogs

Satisfaction with the Far North District Council’s management of dogs declined significantly from 35 percent in 2022 to 16 percent in 2024, leading to a rise in aggressive and unsocialized dogs being euthanized. Mayor Moko Tepania blames irresponsible owners for the increase and calls for a break in the code of silence protecting them, urging owners to take better care of their pets.
