AFL to raise salary caps for AFLM and AFLW clubs, increase deductions for development, interstate travel and expand healthcare model

The AFL ‘soft’ salary cap will see a $700,000 increase by the 2027 season, with the AFLW equivalent rising by $300,000 as part of policy changes. Clubs and coaches pushed for the cap hikes following cuts in the COVID-affected 2020 season. The adjustments will be phased in gradually between 2025 and 2027, announced by the league on Tuesday.
