Four Italian UNIFIL peacekeepers injured in Lebanon as Argentina withdraws

UNIFIL’s sector headquarters in Chamaa, housing its Italian contingent, was hit by two 120-mm rockets, injuring four peacekeepers who are now receiving treatment with non-life-threatening injuries. The rockets, believed to be launched by Hezbollah, hit a bunker and logistics center, prompting Italian officials to condemn the attacks and call for the safety of UNIFIL soldiers. With Argentina withdrawing its troops from UNIFIL due to ongoing incidents, the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah continues, resulting in numerous casualties on both sides since Israel’s invasion of Lebanon on Sept. 30.
