First-time contestant crowned Northland’s best

Franklin dairy farmer Justin Ruygrok, 28, was crowned Northland’s top young farmer after winning the Northern FMG Young Farmer of the Year competition. Competing against seven contestants, Ruygrok scored 310.3 points to secure the victory, with challenges ranging from practical skills to a general knowledge quiz. He will now advance to the Grand Final in Invercargill in July, along with the top AgriKidsNZ and FMG Junior teams.
