Finn Wolfhard found himself in a real-life armed robbery situation while filming a short film centered around a convenience store heist.
The actor, known for his role in ‘Stranger Things’, took on the role behind the camera for ‘Night Shifts’, a film depicting a convenience store clerk being robbed at gunpoint. The filming took place in a real store in Vancouver, Canada, where Finn shared that the cast and crew were unexpectedly faced with a real thief.
In an interview on the ‘Hot Ones’ YouTube show, Finn explained the bizarre incident, saying, “The short film revolves around a robbery between a clerk and a robber who turn out to be old high school friends. While shooting the robbery scene, a man entered with a makeshift fake gun made from bike springs. It was a strange and unsettling experience.”
He continued, “As the standoff unfolded with fake guns, I was taken aback and confused by the situation. Despite the interruption, I was so engrossed in the filming that I was ready to continue as if nothing had happened.”
Reflecting on his early acting days in ‘Stranger Things’, Finn admitted that he was unsure of himself at the start, but believes that his initial naivete actually aided in his growth as an actor. He expressed a desire to retain some of that innocence and lack of self-consciousness in his current work.
