Father and daughter die in wave incident at Garrapata Beach

A father and his 7-year-old daughter tragically died at Garrapata State Beach in Northern California after a strong wave swept the girl away. The father, Yuji Hu, 39, attempted to rescue her but was also pulled under. While the girl’s mother managed to return to shore, a two-day search for the girl ended with divers recovering her body about 100 yards offshore. The family expressed gratitude to the rescue teams and requested privacy during this difficult time.
