Relatives of Russell Phay, accused of violently attacking Linda Malek-Aslanian in Ty Warner’s California mansion, revealed they warned authorities two days prior about his deteriorating mental state due to severe schizophrenia. Despite their repeated attempts to alert the Colorado Department of Corrections, they received no response and learned of his arrest only days after the incident. Phay, with a history of violent offenses, is now charged with attempted murder, burglary, and other crimes, as his family expresses sorrow for both the victim and their brother lost to mental illness.
