EU top diplomat has ‘no more words’ on Mideast suffering

Outgoing EU top diplomat Josep Borrell expressed frustration at the EU’s failure to address the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, citing the high number of casualties in Gaza, especially women and children. Borrell proposed suspending political dialogue with Israel over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, but faces opposition from key member states. He also urged greater unity and quicker decision-making in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine before handing over to his successor, Kaja Kallas, in December.
