The tribunal will hold Russian President Vladimir Putin and his ministers to account for the invasion of Ukraine.
Kyiv’s European allies have approved a special tribunal to hold Russian leaders, including President Putin, accountable for the 2022 Ukraine invasion, as endorsed by EU foreign ministers in Lviv. The tribunal, which respects the immunity of officials in office, aims to ensure that Russia’s aggression does not go unpunished, with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy asserting its importance in deterring future aggressors. Concurrently, France announced it will utilize frozen Russian assets to maintain military support for Ukraine, alongside financial pledges from the EU for Ukrainian defense.
