FCA fines Neil Woodford and his company £46mn for management failures

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority has fined former fund manager Neil Woodford £46mn for mismanagement of his Equity Income fund, which collapsed in 2019, leaving 300,000 investors with losses of approximately £3.6bn. Woodford received a personal fine of £5.9mn and has been banned from senior management roles and managing retail investor funds due to the inappropriate investment decisions made during the fund’s operation.
