No safety violations found in worker’s death at Walmart oven

Nova Scotia’s Labour Department has concluded its investigation into the death of Gursimran Kaur, a 19-year-old employee at a Walmart in Halifax, stating there were no safety violations linked to the incident. Kaur was found in a walk-in oven on October 19, 2024, and the department confirmed the oven was functioning properly at the time. Halifax Regional Police also found no evidence of foul play and acknowledged the public’s interest in the case, while Walmart removed the oven following the incident.
