Katie Amess, daughter of murdered MP David Amess, has criticized the government’s Prevent programme, stating she was “catastrophically” failed by it. Her father was fatally stabbed 21 times by Ali Harbi Ali, an Islamic State supporter who had been referred to Prevent but still carried out the attack. Ali received a whole-life prison term, prompting Katie to seek answers on how he was able to do so and ensure such tragedies are prevented in the future.
