Klæbo wins sixth gold at Winter Olympics

Norway’s Johannes Høsflot Klæbo secured a historic sixth gold medal at a single Winter Olympics by winning the men’s 50 kilometers cross-country ski race at the Milano Cortina 2026 Games. He triumphed on the final uphill, leading a Norwegian podium sweep with Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget and Emil Iversen, marking the first such achievement in 102 years. Klæbo now holds a record 11 Olympic golds, surpassing American Eric Heiden’s five in 1980. His previous victories at these Games included the sprint, 10km, 20km skiathlon, team sprint, and relay.
