Auckland resident Paul Cheater received a $70 fine from Auckland Transport for allegedly parking on a footpath or cycle path, despite being parked in his own driveway just meters from his home. His wife, Anita Gatley, expressed their shock and frustration over the incident, which occurred during a brief 10-minute lunch break. Photos of the vehicle showed it parked close to their house. The situation has left Cheater feeling “absolutely furious.”
