The US deported over 200 Venezuelans to El Salvador, defying a court order by Judge Boasberg to halt the deportations under Trump’s proclamation using the Alien Enemies Act. El Salvador’s President Bukele welcomed the detainees, including alleged gang members, to a maximum-security jail, highlighting the strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries. The move is part of Trump’s campaign promise to crack down on illegal immigration, despite ICE agents falling short of deportation quotas set by the administration.
