After serving four years for his role in the 2022 Coutts border blockade, Anthony Olienick has been released from prison. He and Chris Carbert were convicted of mischief and firearms violations after being found with weapons and ammunition at the protest site. Both men appealed their sentences, with Olienick’s appeal for possession of a weapon still pending, and he is eligible for statutory release in June. The blockade was part of nationwide protests against COVID-19 mandates.
