The City of Sydney council issued the most fines at an average of $166 per ticket, justifying the high rate as necessary to encourage fair turnover of parking spaces. Despite variations in fine amounts across councils, common offenses include failing to pay for parking and disobeying no-stopping signs, with fines expected to increase during peak seasons like Christmas and summer.
