Auckland councillors have voted to disband Eke Panuku and shift its responsibilities to Auckland Council by mid-2025, as part of structural changes for Council Controlled Organisations. Tātaki Auckland Unlimited’s economic development functions will also be brought into the council. The reforms aim to increase council control over operational matters and address concerns about lack of public consultation and accountability in CCOs.
