Chelsea experienced a 44% increase in injuries, totaling 23, following their participation in the expanded Club World Cup, according to the Men’s European Football Injury Index. Despite this spike, the overall injury rate among European clubs decreased from 174 to 146 injuries during the same period. The report suggests the impact of the tournament may still be unfolding, with anticipated spikes in injury rates from November to February.
