Boy sent messages admitting attack, murder jury told

A 15-year-old boy is on trial for the murder of an 80-year-old man in a park, where the victim was assaulted while walking his dog. The court heard messages from the boy admitting to the attack, claiming he acted in anger and regretted it. The boy’s mother sent texts pleading for him to stop running before he was detained. The court also heard that the male defendant racially abused the victim before kicking and punching him, while the female defendant filmed the attack. The victim’s cause of death was a neck injury causing spinal cord damage. The trial continues.
