The worlds of TV soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale will collide – literally – in an explosive crossover episode on Monday, kicking off a revamped but reduced schedule for the shows.
Characters from both soaps will meet for the first time in the one-off Corriedale, which executive producer Iain Macleod describes as “like the Marvel multiverse assembling.” Macleod, who has been overseeing both shows for two years, initially considered minor crossovers but ultimately decided to create a significant event. This ambitious crossover marks a bold step in merging the ITV soap universes.
