Wiegman named women’s coach of the year

England manager Sarina Wiegman has been awarded women’s coach of the year at the 2025 Ballon d’Or after leading the Lionesses to their second consecutive European Championship title, defeating Spain 3-1 on penalties in the final. Wiegman, 55, triumphed over other notable coaches, including Chelsea’s Sonia Bompastor and Arsenal’s Renee Slegers.
