UK Sanctions RSF Commander Tied to Sudan Massacre
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A Sudanese paramilitary commander, Brig Gen Al-Fateh Abdullah Idris (Abu Lulu), has been sanctioned by the UK government following his involvement in the el-Fasher massacre, where he was filmed executing unarmed captives. The UK also imposed sanctions on three other RSF commanders due to their roles in systemic violence and atrocities in Sudan’s civil war. UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper condemned the events as a “scar on the conscience of the world,” emphasizing the need for accountability. The sanctions coincide with similar actions by the US against individuals connected to the conflict.
