Rescue teams have successfully located five of the seven Lao nationals trapped in a flooded cave in Xaisomboun province for over a week. The group was found alive and in good spirits, with search efforts continuing for the remaining two individuals. The villagers entered the cave prior to heavy rains and a landslide blocking their exit, and were reportedly seeking gold, despite safety warnings from authorities. A Thai volunteer team, which includes experienced divers, joined the rescue efforts.
