Former Liberal staffer Bruce Lehrmann successfully avoided a $200,000 security payment for his defamation appeal, allowing the challenge to proceed without the financial burden. Federal Court Justice Wendy Abraham declined the request from Network Ten and journalist Lisa Wilkinson, also granting Lehrmann a stay on the $2 million legal costs he owes to Ten. Lehrmann, who denies sexually assaulting Brittany Higgins in Parliament House, continues to face legal battles and financial struggles, with Ten serving a bankruptcy notice but agreeing to wait until the appeal is resolved.
