Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy — U.S. downhill skiing champion Breezy Johnson crashed out of the women’s Super-G race at the 2026 Winter Olympics after her pole caught a gate. After the crash, her boyfriend Connor Watkins proposed, and she accepted. Italian skier Federica Brignone won gold, becoming the oldest female gold medalist in women’s alpine skiing, while several other competitors, including Sofia Goggia and Ester Ledecka, also faced difficulties in the race.
