Assault on Abdullah Barghouti in Israeli Prison Confirmed

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office reported that detainee Abdullah Barghouti was injured during a suppression operation at Gilboa prison, displaying visible damage to his left eye and significant weight loss from 110kg to 60kg. Barghouti, serving 67 life sentences for his leadership in Hamas’s military wing, is said to have struck his head against a door during the incident. Hamas condemned the assault as part of a brutal repression policy against prisoners. Currently, over 9,300 Palestinians, including women and children, are incarcerated in Israeli prisons.
