Sydney’s Bondi Beach massacre, inspired by the Islamic State, resulted in 15 deaths, including a child and a Holocaust survivor, during a Hanukkah event. Perpetrated by father-son duo Naveed and Sajid Akram, the attack lasted nine minutes before police intervened, killing Sajid and injuring Naveed, who had previously been investigated by intelligence. Authorities found homemade explosives and IS flags in Naveed’s car, indicating terrorist affiliations. Ahmed al Ahmed, a bystander, became a hero by disarming one shooter, saving many lives despite being shot five times.
