Last week, New Zealand hosted the South Pacific Defence Ministers’ Meeting (SPDMM) with participants from New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, New Caledonia, Tonga, Chile, and Papua New Guinea. The theme was “collectively looking to the future: our region in 2050” with a focus on collaboration and adaptation. The conference aimed to explore ways for defence leaders to work together to address future challenges and opportunities in the region.
