Energy Minister Ted Laking reported a record peak demand of 123 megawatts, while emergency manager Shane Skarnulis advised residents to have a 72-hour emergency kit and a heat retention plan. RCMP also cautioned against unnecessary travel due to increased vehicle incidents. Community warming centres will be activated if rolling blackouts occur.
