Bangladesh will seek extradition of ex-premier Sheikh Hasina from India

Bangladesh’s interim leader Muhammad Yunus plans to seek the extradition of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from India for her role in a deadly student-led uprising, as well as other human rights violations during her rule. Yunus aims to hold a new election after implementing electoral reforms, while also engaging with political parties like the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. Despite reports of rising influence of hard-line Islamists and attacks on minorities, Yunus remains focused on restoring stability through political consensus and accountability.
