Ahmed al-Sharaa holds talks with UAE counterpart in Abu Dhabi

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa visited Abu Dhabi to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, marking his second trip to a Gulf state since taking office. The discussions focused on mutual interests amid the new Syrian leadership’s efforts to establish an inclusive political system following the fall of Bashar al-Assad in December. As the UAE expresses support for Syria’s rebuilding, concerns remain over extremism and the need for sanctions relief to revitalize Syria’s economy after years of war.
