Arsonist pleads not guilty to killing mother and three children

A man named Sharaz Ali, 40, is accused of intentionally setting fire to a house in Bradford, resulting in the deaths of Bryonie Gawith, 29, and her three children, Denisty (9), Oscar (5), and Aubree (22 months). Calum Sunderland, 26, allegedly assisted Ali in this “revenge” attack, reportedly seen on footage with a petrol canister before fleeing. During the trial, Sunderland vehemently denied being a murderer and distanced himself from the act, claiming he only intended to burn a car. Both men face charges of murder and attempted murder related to the incident that occurred on August 21, 2024.
